On November 17, 2025, SCLSNJ will become a member of the Main Library Alliance, a library consortium that will dramatically expand our collection and pick up and drop off locations.

Offering Access to So Much More
With over 3.2 million library items at 57 participating libraries, the Main Library Alliance collection will offer four times what SCLSNJ currently offers of 850,000 items today.

Keeping Things As Easy As Possible
We know big changes can sometimes be tough, but don't worry, we are working hard to keep things as easy and familiar as possible. We want to make sure you get all the incredible new resources without needing a new card or learning a whole new system.
More Books, No New Hassle
Library Cards
Your existing SCLSNJ library card is your key to the entire Main Library Alliance. You will not need to apply for or pickup a new card.
Placing Holds
The way you place, manage, and pick up your holds will stay the same. While the catalog itself will be updated, the core process of placing an item on hold and tracking it will be the same.
Loan Periods
Lending periods will remain the same for all items you check out, so no need to learn new lending rules.
Renewal Rules
As usual, we will automatically renew your items two days before they are due. If your materials cannot be renewed for some reason, you will receive a coming due notice.
