Celebrate USA250 by discovering where Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge fits in the history of the American Revolution!

Saturday, Oct 17 | 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Warren Township branch

How does Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge factor in the history of the American Revolution and the Bockoven Brothers of Harding Township? The Bockoven Brothers owned the land that Great Swamp sits on today. These German immigrants enlisted and served in the American Revolution and lived amicably with the Delaware Indians (Lenni Lenape).

Presented by Randi Emmer, current Vice President of Friends of Great Swamp, a volunteer-run 501(c) non-profit charity established in 1999. Their primary goal is to protect and support Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge in these three major core areas: habitat conservation, public education and outreach, and recreation and facility support.

This program has been planned in conjunction with the Elizabeth Snyder-Continental Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
