A Child Like Me
How Children in the 18th Century Lived and Played
Take a trip through time – back to the days before cars, telephones, and the internet! Explore a hands-on, family-friendly program exploring everyday life for children during the Revolutionary War.
Saturday, Jun 27 | 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Peapack and Gladstone branch
Listen to the story of General Henry Knox as a child, compare historic images of the Jacobus Vanderveer House to the homes we live in today, play with colonial toys and games, and make your own colonial-era hat! Don’t forget to sign your name on the life-size replica of the Declaration of Independence before you leave!
This program is recommended for children ages 8-12.
Presented by Jacobus Vanderveer House Commission.
Made possible with funds from the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the New Jersey Historical Commission.
