Maggie Moore has a way with words. Working toward a degree in forensic linguistics she diagrams sentences for fun and to relax. Often underestimated because of the way she looks (heavily tattooed and pierced) and where she lives (a trailer park in Florida that is anything but fancy), she is noticed for her skill set by the local police department. She helps a detective narrow down his suspect list to identify a rapist after analyzing the text messages of potential suspects. When a mayor’s daughter is abducted, Maggie is asked to help out yet again, but the whole case hits a little too close to home and her past. But how can Maggie resist the puzzle and a chance to help a missing girl?
Maggie is a tough woman but sadly her vulnerability as a woman makes her a target of violence that will make any reader very upset and extremely angry. In spite of all the horrible things life throws at her, she still fights for justice and pursues her academic dreams. This is a dark and disturbing mystery but so unique, delving into the power of the words that people choose and the ways they use them, that mystery readers will be riveted to the page wanting to know how Maggie’s mind works.
This one is released in August so put your holds on now!
