The Somerset County Park Commission Rec-Connect Adult Day Program Visit the Library

On January 23, participants in the Somerset County Park Commission Rec-Connect Adult Day program connected with the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey’s (SCLSNJ) Manville Library branch. During the visit, they explored the Library, shared subjects they like to read about, and discovered the Library’s many resources.  “Libraries should be fully inclusive of all members of their community, strive to remove barriers to access, and play a transformational role in helping facilitate participation and engagement,” said Jennifer Sulligan, SCLSNJ adult services librarian. “We hope to accomplish this at SCLSNJ by offering fully accessible, inclusive resources and services to our community members whenever possible to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to connect, explore, share, and discover the world at their Library.” SCLSNJ offers social hours for adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities that include opportunities to connect and share ideas; discover creativity through arts and crafts; and explore music, storytimes, and more.  Discover social hours: The Bound Brook branch, located at 402 East High Street in Bound Brook The Bridgewater branch, located at 1 Vogt Drive in Bridgewater The Hillsborough branch, located at 379 South Branch Road in Hillsborough The Manville branch, located at 100 South 10th Avenue in Manville The Mary Jacobs branch, located at 64 Washington Street in Rocky Hill The North Plainfield branch, located at 6 Rockview Avenue in North Plainfield The Warren Twp. branch, located at 42 Mountain Boulevard in Warren Twp.
