The Nature Of Disappearing” by Kimi Cunningham Grant Review by Amy Atzert, collection development librarian Emlyn has worked so hard to forget her past and move on to a better life. The pain of a best friend who forgot her and a boyfriend who literally left her on the side of the road served as motivation for her to move on. Sure it was hard and she felt a little like a ship off course for a while, but now her airstream is the perfect place to lay her head and her work as a fishing and hunting guide pretty much pays the bills. Her life is simple and safe the way she likes it. That is until Tyler, the old boyfriend, shows up on her doorstep to tell her Janessa, the old best friend, is missing and he needs Emlyn’s help to find her. Tyler had hired Janessa, a social media star, to tour around the country and document life living in the vans his company builds. Janessa  hasn’t responded to any of Tyler’s calls or texts and he is certain something bad has happened to her. When Emlyn sees something fishy in the evidence Tyler presents her, she decides to help him look for Janessa. Emlyn is an expert tracker after all. The closer the two get to finding Janessa the more Emlyn’s senses begin to point to danger. A fast-paced thriller with interesting characters. The flashbacks throughout the pages to Emlyn’s past with both Tyler and Janessa expose important details. These details help the reader not only identify with each of the characters but creates a suspenseful and engaging read. This one had me wondering who was telling the most lies and if Emlyn could trust anyone at all!
