Eighteen Somerset County students have entered May 19 entrepreneurial contest

Eighteen Somerset County students grades 7-12 will participate in Somerset County Library System of New Jersey’s second Teen Tycoons, an entrepreneurial competition, on Friday, May 19, 7-9:30 p.m. at SCLSNJ’s Manville Library branch, located at 100 S. 10th Avenue in Manville. The Shark Tank-inspired contest will involve a one-minute presentation (without props, slides, or any other supporting materials) to a panel of judges who are looking for original business concepts and/or new variations of an existing business concept. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place. SCLSNJ Teen Tycoons participants are (in alphabetical order by last name):

“This is the second year we will be offering this program and I am very excited we have opened up the program to 7th and 8th graders,” said program coordinator Cathy DeBerry. “It it clear by this year's registrations that the entrepreneurial spirit is not limited to any age.” This competition has been made possible thanks to generous contributions made by Office Evolution Somerville.
