Signature Storytime Hosted at our North Plainfield Branch

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey's (SCLSNJ) North Plainfield branch hosted Mayor Lawrence La Ronde for a special storytime event. First, children and parents/caregivers were provided a white ceramic mug and an assortment of markers to decorate with. All of the children cooperatively contributed towards decorating a mug for the Mayor. Mayor La Ronde expressed his gratitude by stating his intention to exclusively use this mug in the Mayor's office. The Mayor additionally read two stories aloud, "The Book with No Pictures" by B.J. Novak and "The Couch Potato" by Jory John and Pete Oswald. "The North Plainfield branch was thrilled to host Mayor La Ronde's storytime," said Crystal Hooper, branch manager. "His contribution is a wonderful reminder that fostering literacy and community engagement starts from the top down.” The North Plainfield branch is located at 6 Rockview Avenue in North Plainfield.
