While the pandemic has caused us to miss out on gatherings and celebrations, you can still #BeSafeAtHome and celebrate culture with the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ) in partnership with the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission. This September and October, the Library System’s virtual branch, Explore From Home, will present two programs showcasing women’s history and Hispanic heritage.
“We are excited once again to partner with the Somerset County Libraries highlighting the culture and heritage of our great communities,” said Freeholder Director Shanel Robinson. “These virtual programs from the Explore From Home branch are vital opportunities to educate and entertain during a time when so many of us are staying home.”
Celebrate women’s history on September 29 from 7-8 p.m. by discovering the life of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a leading figure during the women’s rights and suffrage movements, through a virtual reenactment. During the program Kim Hanley, a professional performing artist, will delve into the history of women’s rights and the women’s suffrage movement.
