“My Passion for Painting” exhibit hosted at SCLSNJ’s Warren Township Library branch in July

Featuring Green Brook artist, Terry Gauld

Seventeen oil paintings, created by local Green Brook artist Terry Gauld, with subjects ranging from glorious still life images to halloween pumpkins and witches, is being featured at the Warren Twp. Library branch this July. Gauld, a self-taught painter, sparked an interest in art by the arrival of a brochure from the South Plainfield Adult Night School several years ago. A painting class, under the instruction of Maria Buschiazzo, presented Gauld the opportunity to receive professional instruction in a relaxed atmosphere. This class allowed Gauld to develop her skills and learn to critique her own work. Gauld credits Buschiazzo’s guidance and encouragement for instilling an enthusiasm in art and for helping her to continue her journey as an artist.   Gauld’s works have won several awards at Johnson & Johnson’s Annual Juried Art Exhibits including 1st place and 2nd place, as well as an honorable mention. Her current exhibit, which includes her award-winning oil on canvas painting “Lemons,” will be on display at the branch during regular library operating hours through July 31.   Anyone interested in exhibiting at the branch - either in the small, glass-enclosed display case or on the gallery wall - should contact library staff member Kathy DeCristofaro at kdecrist@sclibnj.org.
