National Comic Book Day

About Blog Post Sep 25, 2024 by SCLSNJ Staff
National Comic Book Day  Created by Linda Tripp, collection development librarian Not to be confused with Free Comic Book Day, which takes place every year on the first Saturday of May, National Comic Book Day is celebrated on September 25. According to the folks at National Day Calendar, this day “honors the art, artists, and stories of comic books.”  Take a peek behind the panels and off the page with books on creating your own comics, graphic novels or manga.  Explore the history of American comics and learn about the artists, writers, iconic and lesser-known characters, bitter rivalries and impact on culture and society with these books: Love comics and graphic novels, but can’t get to the Library? Comics Plus offers unlimited, simultaneous access to thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga from your favorite publishers: Dark Horse, IDW, Tokyopop and more. Every Comics Plus title is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
