On November 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ) will host the 3rd annual Book Lovers Tea at the Hillsborough branch, located at 379 South Branch Road in Hillsborough. Library customers will spend the afternoon savoring tempting sweets, learning about books, Shakespeare's kitchen, and feasting in the Renaissance. Food historian Francine Segan will give a talk on fanciful foods, intriguing table manners, etiquette, and unusual dining customs during Elizabethan times. Segan is the author of “Dolce: Italy’s Sweets” and “Pasta Modern: New and Inspired Recipes From Italy.”
Additionally, Yvonne Selander, SCLSNJ’s collection development supervisor, will talk about the best books of 2018 with a sneak peek into 2019 releases.
