This month, discover a LEGO fantasyland created by lifetime Warren resident William Mahon in the Art Space at the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey’s (SCLSNJ) Warren Twp. Library branch.
The creative collection features a carousel, roller coaster, castle, and ferris wheel constructed out of LEGO building bricks. According to Mahon, a 26-year-old autistic man, he is passionate about creating pieces for the enjoyment of all, especially children.
Mahon participates in the J Cares program in Bridgewater, which is an adult intern program that provides social and recreational opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities, where he is a teachers' assistant in a preschool classroom. He is a member of the Chez Renee Super Star dance team and is a Special Olympics athlete. In his spare time he enjoys visual arts, building, and creating.
This current Library display will be available to the public during regular hours of operation through January 31. Anyone needing more information or artists interested in exhibiting in the Art Space at SCLSNJ’s Warren Twp. Library branch should contact staff member, Kathy DeCristofaro at kdecristofaro@sclibnj.org.
