SCLSNJ’s ten branches to be closed December 2, 3, and 4 for a necessary upgrade; eCollections available virtually during closure
A big change is coming to the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ) - a change that has been almost twenty years in the making. SCLSNJ will be upgrading their checkout and catalog system to The Library Corporations CarlX product, live for patron access beginning December 5. “We think patrons are really going to love the new catalog system,” said SCLSNJ Director of Operations Lynn Hoffman. “People who are accustomed to shopping for products online will find it has a very familiar feel. And our Library power users will find a host of new features that will make them even better at searching the catalog.” All SCLSNJ branches will be closed December 2, 3 and 4 for installation of the System’s new checkout and catalog system. SCLSNJ’s new checkout and catalog system will offer easier searching yielding more relevant results, a Librarian-curated children’s catalog, innovative account management features, effortless integration with eBooks and eAudio, and an intuitive layout and user experience. Starting at 5 p.m. on December 1 through 9 a.m. on December 5, the SCLSNJ catalog will be completely unavailable.- You won’t be able to view your library account online.
- You won’t be able to search the catalog for materials.
- You won’t be able to use your library card to log into online research resources and databases.
