About Blog Post Apr 7, 2020 by Pressroom
Somerset County Freeholder Melonie Marano, the townships of Rocky Hill and Montgomery, the Library Commission, and the Mary Jacobs Library Foundation are pleased to announce a renewed partnership which will allow all parties to achieve their shared goal - providing premier library services for the residents of Montgomery and Rocky Hill. "From the start of this process in January, all parties shared a common goal of providing premier library services to the residents of Montgomery and Rocky Hill,” said Freeholder and Library Liaison Melonie Marano. “I am delighted that through collaboration, lots of conversations between each stakeholder group and the mutual love of libraries, we collectively achieved this objective. Thanks to all the volunteer members of the subcommittees that worked tirelessly on these efforts; we appreciate all you do for our county." The number one priority and ultimate mission of the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ) is to provide superior library services for the residents of Somerset County in order to enrich lives, expand knowledge, and strengthen communities. "The Library Commission is grateful for the Mary Jacobs Foundation’s willingness to assist the Commission in providing noteworthy library service to the shared communities of Rocky Hill and Montgomery. The Commission and County commend the altruism and applaud the unrelenting commitment of the Foundation to sustain the laudable mission statement ascribed to this foundation. SCLSNJ looks forward to a renewed spirit of partnership," said SCLSNJ Commission Chair Anthony Suriano. Although there are still many discussions to be had over the coming months, this is a positive step towards a mutually beneficial outcome. "We are pleased to be able to continue offering library services to the residents of Rocky Hill and Montgomery and deeply appreciate the cooperative efforts that have made this possible,” said SCLSNJ County Library Administrator Brian K. Auger. To learn more or to explore the Library System’s digital services, visit SCLSNJ.org.
