Party like it’s “1999” with the artist formerly known as Prince, check out a CD (or 15!), and ring in 2022 with songs available from the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ).
The last two years have been filled with uncertainty, new norms, and changes as a result of the pandemic. In 2022, take a few notes from Idina Menzel as Elsa in Disney’s “Frozen” and “Let it Go,” leave the past where it belongs, “in the past” and welcome “Better Days” with pop-rockers the Goo Goo Dolls.
Know that the Zombies had it right in 1968 when they sang “we’ve only just begun” in “This Will Be Our Year,” and celebrate “Dynamite” new beginnings with K-Pop sensation BTS.
It’s time to “break out of your shell” with the legendary Diana Ross; embrace your internal and external beauty with “Tapestry” weaver Carole King; and get “Happy” with the multi-talented producer, songwriter, and performer, Pharrell Williams.
When the clock strikes midnight, dance with somebody (or even yourself), sing the traditional tune “Auld Lang Syne” with India.Arie, and ring in the new year with music from your Library:
