On February 3, the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey's (SCLSNJ) Watchung branch hosted a STEAM-themed slime lab program especially for children in grades K-5.
Slime was created using liquid glue, baking soda, and contact solution. Food coloring and beads were added to make the slime even more special.
"Science programs at the Library allow students to explore educational concepts in a hands-on way," said Katie Salerno, youth services librarian. “Attendees learned about the different states of matter. They discovered this by stretching and squashing the slime; that it’s not quite a liquid or a solid, but something in between called a non-Newtonian fluid.”
