Literacy Fun at our North Plainfield branch

The Somerset County Library System of New Jersey's (SCLSNJ) North Plainfield branch has recently installed an AWE Platinum Early Literacy Station™. An AWE Station is a touch screen computer filled with educational games for young learners looking to expand upon their literacy skills in a safe environment. "Early literacy skills are the foundation of a student's academic success," said Jodi Silverman, youth services department supervisor. "With interactive educational technology, children can develop an early love of reading in a fun and familiar way. In addition, when used in conjunction with other Library-offered early literacy resources - like Launchpads and weekly storytimes - youth are equipped with the tools necessary to excel."
