Explore Art at Three Somerset County Library Branches

Customers can visit the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey's (SCLSNJ) Bridgewater, Montgomery, or Warren Township branches this summer and early fall to travel through the imaginations and artistic explorations of five local artists. Throughout the month of August 2024, the Bridgewater branch located at 1 Vogt Drive in Bridgewater will be hosting artwork from two artists.
The first exhibit, entitled, “The Colors of India," will feature watercolor depictions of everyday street scenes and bustling city life by artist Mahmootha Ahmed of Bridgewater.

The second exhibit, entitled, “Palette of Spring and Summer," will feature oil and acrylic landscape paintings on canvas by artist Natasha Malenkova of Bridgewater.

Throughout the month of August 2024, the Montgomery branch located at 100 Community Drive in Skillman will host the exhibit entitled, "A Different Perspective" by photographer Jessica Grare. "My goal is to capture details someone would not normally see and a colorful perspective of the world around us," said Grare.

Throughout the months of August and September 2024, the Warren Twp. branch located at 42 Mountain Boulevard in Warren will host artwork from two artists. The first exhibit, entitled, "Kaleidoscope of Nature: Glimmer, Gloom, and Gust," will feature the watercolor works of artist and teacher Aprajita Lal of Bridgewater. "I believe that through the kaleidoscope of nature, we witness the dance of light, shadow, and storm - each moment a reflection of nature's infinite moods and mysteries," said Lal. "This exhibition is an invitation to pause, feel, and reconnect with the beauty that surrounds us."

The second exhibit is a collection of acrylic paintings and photography created by artist Samantha Kohl of Warren. “My favorite things to draw and paint are animals - whether that be my friends pets or my pets," said Kohl. "Art has always been an outlet and way of relaxing.”
