A Literary Showdown at our Bound Brook branch

It is time to get in the game at SCLSNJ's Bound Brook branch! The genre showdown display - featuring eight changing genres - is an interactive book display modeled after sports brackets. The display is featured at our branch located at 402 East High Street in Bound Brook. Customers are encouraged to vote on one of two genres each week, and the winning genre moves on until one is eventually crowned the champion. About 30-50 customers participate every week. "For this display, I wanted to let people engage in some friendly competition," said Rowan Baxter Green, library technician. "I know from experience that people can be very enthusiastic about the literary genres they enjoy, so I thought it would be fun to see which genre had the most fans in our Library." "Our staff are continuously finding new ways to engage customers," said Cathy DeBerry, branch manager. "Our intention with this display, and other asynchronous programming activities, is to capture attention to remind everyone that the Library is a place for education and entertainment. I encourage all to visit our branch regularly to check out the suite of passive activities we have scheduled from month to month."
