You by Caroline Kepnes
Joe is working at a bookshop when Guinevere walks into his life. They have an instant connection. He knows they were meant to be together and he will do everything he can to make her his. ANYTHING.
Joe tells his own story of obsession which makes this a creepy and wonderful choice on audio. He thinks of everything and plans quite well (but by no means perfectly.) He conveniently runs into her knowing where she will be by stealing her cell phone and having access to her emails and does everything he can in the effort to finally make Guinevere his girlfriend. Nevermind that she already has a boyfriend who is a complete jerk; Joe just needs to get her to realize that. The title comes from how he often addresses her as “you” in his head, especially in his frustration that she can’t see how perfect they are for each other.
Two disturbing things. One: Joe and I have the same shower curtain. Two: I found myself thinking that he was too good for her. Then I had to remind myself that this guy is capable of murder and is a crazy obsessive stalker.
But seriously, I don’t know what he sees in her.
