Topics and presenters are aligned with the latest professional trends and educational research. Educators, check with your employer to see if SCLSNJ Parent/Teacher workshops satisfy CEU requirements.

Launchpads

Launchpads are learning tablets that provide children ages three to ten with hours of educational and fun interactive learning.

Other Programs and Services:

  • Classroom Presentations: SCLSNJ librarians are available to visit community classrooms and present on library materials and resources. From storytimes at Early Childhood Centers to database instruction for high school students, SCLSNJ youth librarians will work with educators to develop onsite programming that best supports classroom needs.
  • Library Tours and Visits: Nothing breaks up the daily routine like a class trip! Reach out to your local SCLSNJ branch to arrange a tour or presentation at the library.
  • Bag of Books: Bags of Books is an initiative SCLSNJ youth services has developed to provide teachers, parents, and caregivers with easy, convenient access to a large amount of content that will be supportive of a vibrant learning environment. Teachers request books on specific subjects and librarians gather the books and check them out on a classroom card. These books remain in the classroom for use during school hours.
  • Storytime Theme Kits: Storytime Theme Kits feature books, plus a guide with related fingerplays, rhymes and other storytime ideas. Our youth services librarians have carefully curated the best content on a variety of high interest topics, and packaged them into ready made kits, giving teachers, parents, and caregivers everything needed to create engaging storytimes. Kits can now be reserved online and delivered to your local library branch.
