Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Make a difference in your community while having fun. Throughout the summer our branches will have various opportunities to craft, paint, and more while earning community service hours. See your local branch for information on community service hours.

MAKE a Difference: Warm Up America! (entering grades 7-12)
Learn to crochet or knit a rectangle that will be contributed to a Warm Up America! afghan blanket. Warm Up America! blankets are distributed to shelters, nursing homes, children’s hospitals, and other organizations.

MAKE a Difference: Project Linus (entering grades 7-12)
Create no-sew fringe blankets for Project Linus. Somerset County’s local chapter will provide blankets to children in need.

MAKE a Difference: Paint & Snack (entering grades 7-12)
Create custom art pieces to help decorate Safe & Sound – Somerset, a shelter for survivors of domestic violence.

MAKE a Difference: Cards and Drawingsfor a Cause (entering grades 6-12)
Create art for Cards for Hospitalized Kids, Color A Smile, and Operation Gratitude.

MAKE a Difference: BirthdayCard Creation (entering grades 6-12)
Create birthday cards for the Confetti Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supplies party starter kits to children who have to spend their birthday in the hospital.

MAKE a Difference: 1,000 Paper Cranes (entering grades 7-12)
Create origami paper cranes to donate to Cranes for Cancer. In the tradition of the 1,000 Paper Cranes lore, these donations aim to bring hope, good luck, and uplifted spirits to cancer patients.

MAKE a Difference: Patch Project (entering grades 7-12)
Capes for Kids provides superhero capes to children in shelters across the country. Create and donate a heart patch.
