I Love the Lake
Created by Amy Atzert, collection development librarian
By this time in July, I begin to get excited for my trip to New Hampshire and Webster Lake. It is crazy to me that I can love a place so much that I only visit once a year. But that is the mystical power of the lake. It is the most beautiful, peaceful place on earth.
Quiet still waters of a lake are so different from the raging waves of the ocean. Taking a boat, canoe, or kayak out on the water first thing in the morning is just magnificent with its sunlight and sparkle. Just when you feel like you are all alone, a creature will fly by or skitter across the water as a reminder of all who live on and use the lake everyday.
