A family of British amateur wrestlers avidly follow the WWE, host their own tiny venue matches and teach aspiring local wrestlers hoping one day that the youngest family members, teenagers Zak and Saraya, will become part of professional wrestling in America. It looks like that dream will come true but the promoter only wants one of the teens. Will Zak be able to adjust to losing the only dream he ever had? Will Saraya make it through the brutal training to become famous? Loosely based on the rise of Paige, a superstar in the WWE, you know going in that she’s going to make it to the big time.
Watching Nick Frost (Ed from Shaun of the Dead) and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones) as loving punk-rock wrestling parents is something to be seen. It shouldn’t work, but it does! I’ve never been into wrestling but this quirky, strangely heartwarming story was a great diversion and made me appreciate those larger than life characters I see in the WWE promos. Also, the cameos by The Rock were great!
