The Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ) was awarded a Disability Advocates Award by the Somerset County Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
The Disability Advocates Awards acknowledge individuals, organizations, and / or businesses that go above and beyond to ensure that people with disabilities in Somerset County are fully included in the life of the community.
“The Somerset County Library System has done a fantastic job ensuring all Somerset County residents are fully able to access books, digital materials, and programming of its libraries,” said Commissioner Sara Sooy. “Our latest addition was the 2022 Disability Job Fair. This program helps ensure that everyone in Somerset County has job opportunities right in their backyard. “
“The return of SCLSNJ’s Job and Volunteer Fair for Persons with Disabilities, after a two-year hiatus, was a remarkable success on April 7, 2022,” said Christopher Korenowsky, director of public service. “Many attendees and participating organizations expressed gratitude for the opportunities the fair provided and shared an interest in returning when SCLSNJ holds the event in 2023. It was my pleasure to nominate all members of the SCLSNJ Disabilities Committee who worked tirelessly to ensure the 2022 Disabilities Job Fair was a success.”
