Dear Fahrenheit 451: Love and Heartbreak in the Stacks: A Librarian’s Love Letters and Breakup Notes to the Books in Her Life by Annie Spence

Annie compiles love (and hate) mail to the books that have touched her life over the years. She’ll remind you of old favorites (Bunnicula!) and introduce you to titles you should probably read (okay, I’ve read The Virgin Suicides but she makes it seem amazing so I’m tempted to read it again.)

Annie has just got to be a great librarian; her letters cannot lie. She has a great love for The Virgin Suicides which I find a little odd, but I have never found the book, or author, that speaks to me the same way anything by Eugenides does for her. I listened to the book and it’s a great experience because her snarkiness, smarts and heart comes through with every word. I’ll admit to laughing out loud. This is a must for lovers of the written word.
