Census 2020
May 27 is a statewide Census Day of Action and NJ Census 2020 is asking Somerset County to, “call those who count on you,” to see how they’re doing and to remind them to fill out the Census. How can you support Census Day of Action?
  1. Make sure you have completed the 2020 Census for your household;
  2. Call five (5) friends, neighbors, or family members to check-in and share a reminder to fill out the 2020 Census.

Want to help but not sure what to say? NJ Census 2020 created a conversation guide which you can find and share here: https://nj.gov/state/census-outreach.shtml

Help build a better future and stronger communities in New Jersey. The 2020 Census is safe, easy, and important and it’s not too late to respond at my2020census.gov.

Jobs and Businesses - Census 2020

The Census is a critical tool for businesses. It provides valuable community data, including: population trends, growth projections, and demographic information. Census responses could lead to more jobs and new businesses in communities throughout New Jersey, and that’s especially important as our state navigates the current health crisis. It takes ten minutes to complete and impacts our communities for the next ten years. Make sure you’re counted by completing the 2020 Census.

#MythbustingMondays: Monday, May 18

#MythbustingMondays

We are 100 days into COVID-19 and where do we stand? While some restrictions might have eased, we have a long way to go. Currently, there are more than 120 vaccines being developed across the world. U.S. health officials have said vaccine development may take 12-18 months. We’re not moving past COVID-19, we’re learning to live with it.

Mondays at SCLSNJ will now be known as #MythbustingMondays. Our Monday share will focus on COVID-19 and relate to significant false or misleading information trends that are relevant at the moment. This information is contributed by Adult Services Department Supervisors Jennifer Konopacki, Mun Hwa Liu, and Elizabete Pata. Let’s #SpreadTruthNotGerms, #BeSafeAtHome, and always stay well informed.

Estimated 65+ Population 2020 Census

In recognition of Older Americans Month, NJ Census 2020 is reminding our senior residents to complete the 2020 Census. Census data informs community planning – including funds for new hospitals, long-term care facilities and senior centers, as well as funding to maintain and update them to better serve the community.

It’s not too late to respond to the 2020 Census while being safe at home. And don’t forget to call those who count on you and ensure they are represented in the 2020 Census.
