The Somerset County Library provides its patrons with educational, informational and cultural resources in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. In addition to books, magazines, newspapers, music CD’s, movies, educational DVD’s, and reference materials, the Library offers internet access, extensive children’s programming, book discussion groups, computer classes, community outreach services, and many other special programs—all for free.

When libraries are popular, demand always outstrips the resources available. That is why we rely on groups such as the Friends of the Library to raise money and provide support for additional projects which the budget and staff cannot cover. All of them run book sales, and frequently take part in other library related activities in the community. If you would like to become a member of the Friends in your community, your participation will be welcomed, as are those who wish to contribute money rather than time.
