SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Must be in grades 6 to 12.

Poems are due by April 30, 2014.

Only original compositions and artwork are accepted. The final decision for the publication of each poem will be made by SCLS's Young Adult Librarians.

Misspellings or grammatical mistakes will not be changed, and your poetry will be published as is.

You must include your name, school, grade, and contact information (email preferred) with your poetry. If you would like your poetry to be published using a pseudonym or "anonymous" please indicate this when you submit your poetry and we will NOT include your real name with the published poem.

Please include the title of your poem (or "Untitled").

HOW TO SUBMIT POETRY:

Please submit your poetry electronically to: teens@sclibnj.org

If your poem is not affected by format, please submit it in a document using word processing software (MS Word preferred) or include it in the body of your email. This will allow us to better fit the text in the anthology.

If your poem is reliant upon formatting or contains artwork, the only way to ensure it appears in its original form is to submit it as a scanned image, JPEG preferred. The final publication is in black and white.

If you have any questions or need assistance submitting your poetry, please see a YS or YA librarian at any SCLS branch. Copies of "It Doesn't Have to Rhyme" will be available at SCLS branches and given to schools that participate.
